We’re seeking experienced bookkeepers with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
ICB Certified (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers) and already registered with Revenue/ROS to file VAT, PAYE, RCT etc. on behalf of clients
Minimum 2 years’ practical bookkeeping experience
Strong knowledge of Irish bookkeeping standards and compliance
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment
While preference is given to ICB-certified and ROS-registered bookkeepers, we may also have roles available for non-certified bookkeepers who can demonstrate strong experience and skills. In certain circumstances, KeepTheBooks will also support our bookkeepers in working towards certification to further develop their credentials.
If you’d like to work with us as a self-employed independent contractor, we can facilitate this. This setup is ideal if you prefer predictable bookkeeping work while remaining a sole trader who manages and pays your own taxes.
General bookkeeping: recording sales, expenses, payments, and receipts
Categorising income and expenses properly
Accounts Payable: recording vendor bills, reconciling supplier statements
Accounts Receivable: creating/sending invoices, recording payments, sending reminders
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation: matching records, identifying discrepancies, reconciling statements
Expense Management: coding and classifying expenses
Financial Reporting: Monthly Profit & Loss and Cash Flow Statements
Fixed Asset Management: purchases, disposals, maintaining asset register
Tax Preparation Support: VAT, PAYE, and RCT filings (as required)
Compliance Support: accurate records, audit preparation, document retention (6 years as per Revenue requirements)
Liaising with accountants at year-end
Implementing/maintaining bookkeeping software (Xero, Sage, etc.)
AutoEntry subscription: uploading invoices digitallyPayroll Services
Employee data management: setting up new hires
Payroll processing: calculating wages, deductions, and running payrolls
Tax compliance & filing: submitting payroll tax returns and monthly PAYE reconciliations
Employee administration: tracking leave, sick pay, etc.
Year-end reporting: payroll summaries, management and accountant reports
